Practice Makes Perfect

One of the things I absolutely LOVE about caking is playing with colors & creating new shades. So when I have the option of free design I end up with tens of bowls filled with different colors, though I only use two the rest are saved for another caking adventure...
A friend of mine wanted a couple of dozens that weren't too fancy but still elegant, she trusted my taste & gave me the option to do whatever I want. Though I  planned Avocado green and Off-White, the mixing process had to stop the minute I saw the color; I fell in love with lime green.
My friend was amazed the minute she saw them so were her guests who asked if there was a "new bakery" in town.

"R" Is For Rayhana

Making these was a great opportunity. A friend of mine just had her baby girl, Rayhana, and asked me to make her 85 cupcakes for her baby shower. She requested different shades of pink, white, and silver. The colors together just worked out magnificently.

Red Velvet Cupcakes

I've always liked experimenting with new things. After finding an amazing and completely unique red velvet cake recipe, I gave it a try and made them as cupcakes. Topped them with cream cheese icing and voila!

Jibreel's Cupcakes

I made these for my new nephew Jibreel's baby shower. I wanted to do something different so I added a little twist. I arranged them to be the same color as the decorations at the baby shower, that's why I used navy blue and off white colors. I was very impressed with the results and so were the guests; and I quote "They look too good to be eaten!".

Newbie!

It all started when I was going through my T.V. guide and "Cake Boss" caught my attention. As I watched I was in complete awe at how just simple ingredients can be turned into an edible masterpiece. After one episode I was inspired and motivated, I wanted to give it all a try.  What started out as playing around with food coloring and recipes has now become a big part of my everyday life. I, one day, hope to open up my own little shop, that's just a thought for now but, like my sister once told me "Even the world's largest structure began with a simple thought".
